Carpet Shampooing Carpet shampooing is an old method of carpet cleaning that was introduced in the 1970s and is effective in washing heavily soiled or stained carpet. Its disadvantage is the residue of excess wet foam in the carpet which is enough to destroy the carpet further. It also takes very long period to get dried and gets sticky when it is dry due to the foam residue in the carpet. The carpet doesn't get rinsed after the shampooing which makes the carpet become sticky after the washing process. This method is highly effective in cleaning carpets that are heavily soiled to remove all the dirt in the carpet. Encapsulation Encapsulation involves the use of synthetic foam detergent as a base that turns into a powdery form when it dries. Encapsulation is more preferred than carpet shampooing because it requires less time to get dried and involves using very little amount of water. When the cleaning foam that was applied is dried, the dirt in the carpet becomes powdery which is then vacuumed or cleaned with a brush when the foam is finally dried off. It uses little or no chemical and it’s environmentally friendly. It is suitable to be used in areas with limited water supply due to its ability to use very little amount of water. It is also not applied to all carpet cleaning situations because it is not always effective for heavily soiled carpet. Dry Carpet Cleaning Dry cleaning carpet is widely used and approved because it requires no drying time at all. It doesn’t require effort or long cleaning time. It is a highly effective and expedient cleaning method that was invented in 1980. A rotating brush machine is used to make cleaning agent which are biodegradable materials, settle to the bottom of the carpet where deep cleaning is practiced. The cleaning agents absorb the dirt in the carpet which is removed once the cleaning procedure is over. The major advantage of this cleaning method is that it is suitable for all kinds of carpets and doesn’t destroy the fiber or color of the carpet. It is also usually used for carpets that require deep cleaning. Bonnet Cleaning Bonnet cleaning is not suitable for heavily soiled carpet or carpets that require deep cleaning. It is used on the surfaces of carpets only. It is a method usually used for the carpet cleaning of commercial places. The machines used in bonnet cleaning are equipped with cleaning pads that are soaked with cleaning solution. These pads are used to wash the surface of the carpet to remove grime, dirt and stains. |
